And some light we did find. Well a crap load of light actually. We Went to This House again this year cause it is sooooo good and it's only 10mins away! Brock was upset again this year as we didn't want to stand around in the long line for him to have a ride on the train.
He is also at the age where it is just not cool to pose for happy snaps for your daggy mother. :(
Mark and Heath are in the background (right) of this one, apparently they don't think it is cool to pose for my photos either. :(
And this is a foam machine with laser lights through it. You come out looking snowed on.

Woooo - Hoooo!
2010 Chrissy cards are finally done and gone-ski! So with not much else other those on the go lately I have nothing crafty to share. (sad face) ... but here is one pic of the many that were taken for this years cards.
Although it is sooooo cute .... (as everything involving my boys is *wink) .... it just didn't make the cut!

Just do it!
I have a bad habit of stressing over LO's for sometimes days (and months) at a time, worrying over every little detail. So lately in an attempt to reduce my ever growing stash I have taken on the ''just stick the damn thing down" approach! If it works - great, if it doesn't - who cares really. I think it has been working for me so far... This LO came about because I just wanted to use that chipboard filigree thingo - I love it when something just comes together without a plan and kind of surprises you, that is what makes craft fun for me!!!

Canvas luvin
I LURVE doing these canvases - I HATE doing the frames as there is too much measuring involved and i Hate maths ... and there is too much power tool usage needed, I have a bit of a power tool phobia that comes with being a bit clumsy by nature.
The individual canvases measure 15cm x 15cm.
The middle bit is painted Fimo clay with pearls to hide the crappy join - I really do suck at maths and wood work!
This little heart under my name was a gift from Brock, he found it at daycare and kept it safe all day to give to me. I included it here because it is so special and I didn't want to loose it.

Rainy Day Blues
A good cure for this depressingly dull weather -
just go mega freakin' bright.
I do love this weather though, I'm just having a little trouble adjusting to being caged up with two very active little boys. At least this house doesn't flood like our previous house, but does get a bit sloshy and muddy outside witch doesn't combine well with my dirt phobia!

The Candles Lie
Two of my Gorgeous Nephews celebrated their Birthdays on the First of this month.
Brock and Heath helped me make Cupcakes to share with Ethan, who did not turn 4 as the candles suggest. He is a much more (ahem) mature 11 ...!
Then we celebrated on Saturday with this little hunk of sweetness. Although he is quite advanced, Eli did not turn 6 as the candles suggest. He is now a big 2 ...!
How C-U-T-E is he here?

On a rainy day ......
What could be better than a little PS play!
Not entirely happy with how they turned out, but I'm still learning!
A clearer original would have been better but wondering around outside in the wet with my camera a two mischievous little people in tow doesn't seam like a good idea.
I think I better get something a little more constructive done now!

Because
.... Because he is so beautiful and because I feel this blog needs some kind of update!
This photo was taken last Summer - it is a bit too chilly to be letting him run round the back yard all wet and starkers lately ... although if he had his way I think that is exactly how he would like to spend all his days!

Self portrait
I spent a gorgeous sunny Sunday afternoon trying to get some shots of my boys happily playing in the back yard. Heath still has a camera obsession and just screams and cries if I don't share it with him. So after he had his usual tantrum and stole my sunnies and threw them on the ground I found that this was the only thing to take a photo of that was actually willing to cooperate with me.
Until he realized that I was having a bit too much fun doing that without him too!

Sooooo.....
I have done an experiment that actually turned out OK!
I am pretty tired of looking at all the blank walls around the house, I have so many ideas of what I want to hang on them but the shops are just not producing what my head is imagining! I confess that it has been quite a few years since I had done a canvas and the old dark moody tattoo inspired ones produced in my teens just aren't doin 'it for me anymore.
While working on a much larger one I thought I would give an old transfer technique a go. So I dug out these 6 little canvases that i have had stashed away for years and wouldn't ya know ..... it bloody worked!!!! I loved them so much I even made the frame all by myself (well Heath did help a bit) It is not perfect by any means but I'll just label it shabby chic and that will make it acceptable ;-) . I also used a metallic paint so in the right light they really shine. Now I have so many ideas I can't wait to start some more!

So Growed-up!
This is my big boy ready for his first day at 'school' (day care) a few weeks ago, he has grown so much in the last year. He has grown out of most of last years winter clothes - even though i do try and buy all his clothes a couple of sizes too big ..... it is sad that he is growing so fast and becoming more independent, he really isn't my little baby any more .... he is an adventurous, imaginative, inquisitive, talkative and very active boy and I couldn't be prouder!
... and BOISTEROUS - very, very ..... BOISTEROUS.
.... and the massive bag only has a small cot sheet for 'rest time' and a change of clothes but displaying your superhero appreciation is of the utmost importance dontcha know.
